Introducing our newest member of the SPM team: Andrew Hood.

We’re excited to introduce our newest member to the team, Andrew Hood!

Andrew joins us as a Business Manager for our PARTsolutions Strategic Parts Management (SPM) product, wherein he will play a key role in growing our SPM arm and helping clients solve their parts management problems. He started his career as a mechanical engineer in the machine design industry, but, later pivoted to the engineering software industry after some onsite customer interactions highlighted his passion for solving people’s problems in the context of a business or engineering process.

Born and raised in Winona Lake, IN (near Warsaw), Andrew now lives in the Cincinnati area with his wife Jenie and 1-year-old daughter Helen. Get to know Andrew more:

Tell us more about your role at CADENAS PARTsolutions:

As a Business Manager for SPM, I’ll be helping customers stay agile as they work with managing parts that they source to vendors, standardize on their commonly used parts, and part reuse initiatives. I am excited to be learning more about our specific product and leveraging my experience with CAD and PLM software to help our clients find the right solution.

What do you anticipate being the biggest challenge of your job?

Educating customers about how our product fits seamlessly with their CAD and PLM ecosystems and is complimentary to their current systems. My background in both CAD and PLM systems give me an edge here.

What part of your job are you most looking forward to?

Primarily, I’m excited to start helping customers solve real problems with SPM. I’ve worked all around it, but I’m excited to see the end result, too, where we see how our product has truly helped their business. I’m also eager to assist with building out a team for our Strategic Parts Management (SPM) product.

Where did you grow up and go to school?

I grew up in Winona Lake, IN, which is close to Warsaw, and I went to Cedarville University in Ohio for my undergraduate in Mechanical Engineering.

I love the Guardians of the Galaxy series, and really any of the Marvel movies.

Best vacation ever:

There’s a few that come to mind. One of the coolest places I’ve been is Bali in Indonesia – that was at the end of a college program, and the location was just beautiful. Also Yosemite – that’s where my wife and I honeymooned, and it was a great trip. We love spending time outdoors.

The Sales Development Playbook by Trish Bertuzzi.

What do you do for fun:

Surviving with a 1-year-old, right now! Other than than, I love hiking and mountain biking – looking for some places around here to do more of that.

Food you can’t live without:

Chipotle – any kind of meat and rice bowl like that.

Parks and Recreation.

Favorite band:

Need to Breathe – I’m hoping to see them when they come to Cincinnati soon.
