Certified AIA/NAS Native Standard 3D Parts for Dassault Solidworks

Certified AIA/NAS Native 3D CAD Models for Dassault Solid Works

The Aerospace Industries Association has partnered with CADENAS PARTsolutions and IHS Markit to deliver the popular NAS standard 3D parts models in native Solidworks format.

These certified models are a valuable time-saver, enabling engineers to quickly search, configure and specify the exact part they need directly into their design.

The AIA updates the NAS library with more than 1,000 modifications to the standard every year. Formerly, engineers would create these models from scratch, which is time-consuming and potentially inaccurate. By sourcing these certified models directly from the AIA, engineers can ensure their data is accurate and always up-to-date.

The standard 3D parts models are available in multiple ways depending on the specific use case. The files are available as part of the IHS Markit’s Engineering Workbench, a subscription-based online portal powered by IHS Markit. They are also available for direct deployment by using CADENAS’ Strategic Parts Management software.

AIA/NAS 3D CAD Models are now available from IHS Markit and CADENAS PARTsolutions for use directly within Dassault Solidworks. The new tool delivers standard 3D parts directly into their open CAD project, streamlining the specification process. Additionally, users now have more than CAD model 150 formats to choose from, including native AIA NAS files for Autodesk AutoCAD®, Autodesk Inventor®, SolidWorks®, Solid Edge®, PTC Wildfire®, and CREO®, Siemens NX®, CATIA®, and more.
