Heavy Metal Robots!

There are few things HEAVIER than Lemmy Kilmister and his band Motorhead, the original Speed-Metal Punk-Band, influencing everyone from Metallica to Alice in Chains. How can anything possibly be heavier than that? Maybe if the band is made of heavy-metal robots playing Motorhead heavy-metal songs!

Heavy. Literally, this band weighs six tons!

The band, better known as “CompressorHead”, is the first all-robot metal band. No, this isn’t like the gang of robot-animals at Chucky-Cheese, these robots actually play their instruments. Built by Ken West, these purpose-built creations have been evolving since 2007, gaining recent worldwide popularity thanks to the video below.

Stickboy – Rocking 4 arms and a double kick equipped 14 piece pearl kit stickboy brings precision that human drummers can only dream about. Stickboy, as the oldest, has been around the block, but it was only when he met fingers that he truly decided that there would be one band to rule them all.

Fingers – 78 fingers. 78 hydraulic actuated, so fast you can’t see them string manipulators and a head that just won’t quit, fingers is here to do one thing. Bring the rock.

Bones – Bass in the place yo! One of the first things our new management did was point out that we needed a bass player. The newest member of the band plays his Fender P-Base to perfection!

 About Motorhead:

Formed in 1975 by frontman and bassist, Lemmy Kilmister, Motorhead has been working non-stop since the bands inception. To date, Motörhead have released twenty studio albums, seven live recordings, five compilation albums and five EPs. Usually a power trio, they had particular success in the early 1980s with several successful singles in the UK Top 40 chart. The albums Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades, and particularly No Sleep ’til Hammersmith, cemented Motörhead’s reputation as one of Britain’s foremost rock bands. Motörhead have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide, and 15 million in the United States alone.

Motorhead is uniquely classified my many as either “Heavy Metal” or “Punk”, with purists of both genres claiming them as one of their own. Lemmy simply says “Our name is Motorhead, we play Rock and Roll”.
