Which way will the balloon go? Smarter Everyday Baffling Balloon

We’re ‘bout to kick up the knowledge in this mug! Just like when Sublime sang about us back in the day:

”Because he’s droppin’, droppin’, droppin’ Science, droppin’ history. With a whole leap of style and intelligency. Yes, I know. I know because of KRS-One.”  

Sure in the final edit they sang about “KRS One,” but only because it rhymed better than “CADENAS PARTsolutions.”

So, in this week’s crazy-cool post we’re droppin’ a little physics on you. Don’t worry, it’s cool physics! Way cooler than that, 1st law of thermodynamics, shenanigans. This here’s some Mini-van physics! Woo Ha!

So which way will it go? When Dad pushes the gas pedal, will the red balloon move backward or forward? You’ll be surprised by the result and even more surprised by the explanation.
