Know Your PARTsolutions Team: Asbjorn “Ozzy” Melo

Hi. I am Asbjorn.  Since that seems to be unpronounceable to most people, I accept Ozzy as a nickname.

I was born a Norwegian boy with aspiration to be an American.  That dream came true many moons ago.

I am lucky to work at CADENAS PARTsolutions with a great group of individuals that are more than the sum of the parts. Sometimes we argue, sometimes we laugh. Through it all we get the job done.

My job? It can be anything that is needed to do. I am good at writing down the intricate details so I work with customers in defining the implementation strategy and work through the project with our experts and the customer’s project team. The best part of the job is that I work mostly from home. This presents the challenge to accurately communicate with co-workers in a timely manner. Since California is the last to see morning sunshine, it is quite important to get an early start to catch colleagues in Germany before they go home for the day.

I live and work in Los Angeles – where the sun shines brightly most of the year. That’s a great opportunity to get some time in on my favorite hobby – riding my motorcycles. The picture is from a track day at Willow Springs raceway. This is my Buell motorcycle and I had it up to a speed of 155MPH that day.

Other hobbies? I love cooking. And with good food goes good wine. In full swing preparing a 7 course Brazilian meal for Thanksgiving.

TV and movies are not for me. I love reading. The current book is work of fiction and about a WW2 battle in the Pacific. Finding good entertainment is easy when living in LA. There’s so much going on and tons of local musical talent. I love going to a bar or restaurant where there’s live music. Always a fun thing to do.

Everybody thinks of LA as a sea of freeways and people.  That is true, but I live only 5 miles from one of the finest mountain roads in the US. This picture is of my motorcycle on Glendora Mountain road.
