Engineering the World’s Largest Swiss Army Knife the Wenger Giant
The $1,300 Wenger Giant Swiss Army knife sets the world record for the largest multi-tool
The Swiss Army knife is an essential “everyday carry” for millions of men and women around the world. Every engineer, camper, tinkerer and DIY’er knows there’s nothing like a Swiss Army knife when you’re in a pinch.
Manufactured in Switzerland by both Victorinox and Wenger, The standard Swiss Army model comes with a knife blade, nail file, bottle opener, can opener, a corkscrew and an awl.
Everyone is familiar with the adage: “The right tool for every job,” but sometimes the everyday Swiss Army knife doesn’t have just the right tool you need, making improvisation and creativity important to get the most out of your knife…because you can’t carry your entire tool chest in your pocket, right? Now you can!
Deep Dive: The Giant Swiss Army Knife
The Wenger Giant is the world’s largest Swiss Army knife, packing 141 functions into 87 implements. At 9” wide and 32 ounces, this dang thing is so big that you could use it as a pretty nice anchor for your boat, if it didn’t list at $2,100 (street price $1,300). To put the weight into perspective, my everyday Swiss Army knife weighs 1.6 ounces!
