DE-STA-CO’s online sales configurator, built by CADENAS PARTsolutions, was recently featured in the spring 2014 issue of the AME Target Magazine.
The article, written by David Mitchell, illustrates the evolution of the digital parts catalog and why it has become a necessity for today’s industrial manufacturer. Jennifer Grahn, the global website manager for DE-STA-CO, takes a deeper look at how their company is leveraging their website to increase their sales and deliver top-notch customer service.
“Let’s say you are a machine integrator, and you need a specific gripper,” she said. “You would put in the specifications of what it should do, and the system will identify the gripper you want based on your criteria and get you the drawing in the format you need.” Designers then can insert that model into their larger drawing.
Along with the added convenience for the customer, DE-STA-CO has seen an internal productivity increase due to the addition of the online sales configurator. “It makes us more productive,” she said. “Customers aren’t using our tech support as often, which frees our staff to do other work. It makes customers more productive because they don’t have to wait for models. Truly a win-win situation for the client and DE-STA-CO.
