PARTsolutions CEO to Keynote American Society of Engineering Education Mid-Year Conference
Milford, OH – Sept. 28, 2010 – Tim Thomas, CEO of PARTsolutions LLC, a global provider of 3D part catalogs for manufacturers and enterprises, will be a keynote speaker at the Design Graphics Division 65th Mid-Year Conference, sponsored by American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE). Themed “Visualizing Change,” the event takes place from October 3 – 6 at Thomas’ alma mater Michigan Technological University in Houghton, MI and focuses on the role of graphics in the field of engineering.
Mr. Thomas will present “Engineering Design: The Paradigm Shift” on Tues., Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. During the keynote presentation, attendees will receive a firsthand look at enhanced design methodologies using web based content portals, as well as integrated content applications within any CAD application. He will also outline how non-value added design has been streamlined or eliminated in such a way that value added design becomes the focus for new product development, shrinking costs and time to market.
“PARTsolutions supports and appreciates the ASEE’s mission to promote excellence in instruction, research, public service and practice in technology engineering,” said Tim Thomas, CEO of PARTsolutions. “I’m thrilled to have such a prominent role at the mid-year conference, and look forward to introducing students to the paradigm shift of using commercial and standard parts to reduce design time.”
Mr. Thomas will also lead a “PARTsolutions Product Suite” workshop on Wed., Oct. 6 at 8:30 a.m., which will further explore the message of his keynote presentation. Upon completion of the workshop, attendees will be well-positioned to instruct students to bring practical learning to their education, and ultimately, their careers. The benefit to the teaching institution will be the credentials necessary to deliver this new design approach in the classroom.
