Power Jacks Reduce Wait for Native CAD Models From One Day to Five Minutes

Power Jacks’ customers used to have to wait an entire day to receive 3D CAD model and product data. Now, through the new online product configurator by CADENAS, they can receive their parts in only 5 minutes. “It was critical for our customers to get CAD data fast, 24 hours a day, from anywhere in the world, in the format they want. It also still had to retain all of the essential product information,” explains Bruce Hamper, Marketing Director for Power Jacks. “We needed something that was leading edge technology on all fronts, so we looked on the market and CADENAS came out as the best.”

To ensure the users get the most out of the online system Power Jacks has implemented two separate online tools from CADENAS, including the native CAD configurator and a product selector. “The CAD model configurator is for the engineer that understands exactly what they require, choosing and selecting the appropriate product options and variants, and downloads the part. The product selector on the other hand is for the engineer that is unfamiliar with our products but has all of required parameters of their particular applications. They input these details and the system recommends a product based on Power Jacks best practice knowledge,” says Hamper. The configurator and selector powered by CADENAS should see the number of downloads increase dramatically in the months following its release in March. Currently, four product groups are online with large product ranges. This results in thousands of product variations in over 100 native CAD model formats. For example; Autodesk, Revit, Solid Edge, SolidWorks, NX, etc. with more planned for the near future.

“We are very happy to have Power Jacks as our customer with them being the largest British manufacturer of screw jacks, bevel gearboxes and linear actuators,” says Colin Johnson, Managing Director of CADENAS Solutions UK. “We are excited to have their core product range go live on the product configurator with more products being added over the next 2-months including the C-Series screw jacks. We will be supporting multiple languages including German, which aligns with the opening of a new Power Jacks office in Wangen, Germany. Further languages such as Chinese, followed by other European languages will also be included to help support the global sales and exports of Power Jacks.”
